| Located in Vistalba and Las Compuertas in Luján de Cuyo region and Maipú, all at the Upper Area of the Mendoza river, 900 meters (3000 ft) above sea level. The winery was founded in 1955 by Atilio Avena an Italian immigrant from the Piedmont area, and is family owned and operated. The Roble (oak) line is made with grapes harvested by hand from low yield vineyards, 1.6 to 2.1 tons/acre for a concentrated flavor. The Robles spend 6 to 9 months in French and American oak and an additional 4 to 6 months resting in an underground cellar once bottled. Total vineyard capacity is 2,700,000 liters. Winner of many international medals. | ||
