| Manuel Lopez Lopez immigrated from
Spain in 1978 and purchased the Finca El Zorzal and the adobe ruins next
door. Today the Finca El Zorzal uses only its own high-quality grapes.
The terroir is excellent for Cabernet Sauvignon, where the river and the
rocky, sandy, permeable soil combine. The winery uses 18 stainless steel
tanks and
120 barrels (80% French Oak). The wine production is available only in
Argentina, Spain, the UK, Peru, Brazil and through selected distributors
in the United
States.
The 1999 Patron Santiago Cabernet is rated one of the Top 30 Wines from Argentina by El Conocedor, the South American publication similar to Wine Spectator Magazine. |
